How to Tweak The IMEI
- Download MTK Engineering Tool and install it.
- Open the app and click on “MTK settings”.
- Click on “Connectivity Option”Now look for “CDS information” and click on it.
- Look for “Radio information” and click on it.
- Now, for a dual sim device, you will get two options like IMEI_1 [SIM1] and IMEI_2 [SIM2]. Then select any one or of which you want to change IMEI number.
- Now, change your IMEI number as shown below,
AT +EGMR=1,7,”IMEI_1” and “AT +EGMR=1,10,”IMEI_2” - 7. Now, just replace IMEI1 or IMEI2 with any of your selected Mifi IMEI numbers from the list above and click on “SEND”.
For example, it should look like these;
AT +EGMR=1,7,”867738030750123”
Or
AT +EGMR=1,7,”867738030756778”
For first and second imei respectively.
After Tweaking, enable airplane mode on & off for the changes to take effect. Or simply reboot your phone.
To confirm successful Tweaking, dial *#06# and the new IMEI will be displayed. But if it didn’t display the new MTN Mifi IMEI, read this post carefully and do it again.
How To Get the MTN 30GB Mifi Lite Data
- Call MTN customer care center on 180.
- Tell them you bought their MTN Mifi device and you are yet to be credited with free 30GB data bonus for the Mifi.
- They might ask you few simple questions and then credit you with 30GB data as seen in the screenshot below.
Once you receive the data, you can use it to browse on any device including Android, iPhone, PC, Java phones, etc.

It should work on your phone. You can download mobile uncle tool. It’s an alternative to MTK engineering tool.
Can I revert my phone’s imei back to normal after tweaking it
Yes, that is if you backup your default imei.
You can also copy it out before tweaking new one and tweak it back if you so wish.
