Airtel Nigeria have silently introduced new cheaper and better data bundles for its subscribers. These new Airtel data plans includes 75MB for 20 Naira, 250MB for 50 naira, 5GB for 1000 naira, and 1.5GB for 300 naira.
As at the time of publishing this article, Airtel is yet to officially announce or advertise these new plans so it’s not yet known by many Airtel users.
I bet you, this is one of the best data offers currently available in Nigeria.
Recall that before now, the best Airtel data offer is the double data bonus for new subscribers where you get double of whatever data plan you subscribe to.

Personally, I have been enjoying 6GB for N1500 data plan on the double data offer but immediately I discovered this new plans, I grabbed it with both hands because it’s bigger and cheaper.
Reason Why This New Airtel Data Plan is Better
With N300, you get a 1.5B data which valid for 7 days. Now, in one month, you will get 1.5GB x 4 = 6GB for 300 x 4 = N1200.
You see, you get a whopping 6GB for just N1200. While a normal airtel data plan of N1000 gives you just 1.5gb per month.
Also, the double data offer gives you same 6GB volume of data for a month but at a higher price of N1500. This is why I ditched it and decided to go with a better option which is 6GB for N1200 per month.
Another advantage of this plan is that it’s not limited to only newly registered SIM cards but to both old and existing Customers.

Alternatively;

Checking Data Balance
To check your Airtel data balance, simply dial *140#.
Checking Eligibility Status
Some SIMs might not be eligible for this plan so to know your eligibility status, first dial the code *141*242#.
If you are not eligible, you’ll get a response like
“Dear customer, you are not allowed to access this service”.
If you are eligible, you should be able to see the data menu and also be able to successfully subscribe to any of the plans.
If your SIM is not eligible, just try another Airtel SIM, if you have.
