Tecno Camon 15 Review

In this section, we will take an insight on some of the features of the new Camon 15 phone in the market. Let’s see if it’s really an upgrade to the Camon 12 device launched last year.

Tecno Camon 15 Design

The device follows the common modern trend of smartphone design with a dot-in-display front camera. In fact, Tecno copied the design their previous Camon 12 Air and Vivo IQOO 3 5G and the Vivo Z6 5G. This is common in today’s smartphone production as companies seems to copy each others designs.

The right hand side of the smartphone houses the power button and the volume buttons while there is no button at the left hand side of the phone. At the top, you will find no physical button as well but under the base, you will see the dual speakers, audio jack port and USB charging port.

At the back, four cameras are arranged vertically in the top left corner while the fingerprint scanner is embedded centrally for easy access. The phone is available in several colors including Shoal Gold, Fascinating Purple, and Jade. Note that the phone is not a water-proof device.

Camon 15 Display

The phone sports a big 6.6 inch display at a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a screen density of 268 ppi. It’s not scratch proof and there is no information on the version of Gorilla Glass used for protection.

It’s advisable you use the extra screen protector that comes with the phone to prolong the life span of the screen and also protect your eyes from blue rays effects.

However, some Tecno fans are agitating for tecno to start using Amoled displays with higher resolutions but most of them will be disappointed with this same 720 x 1600 pixels device in year 2020.

Take photos in HDR and Panorama, as well as shoot 1080p videos with frame at 30fps.

In the front, there is a single 16MP shooter that captures your best moments. The front camera is also capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fpps.

There is a buit-in storage of 64GB capacity which can be upgraded using an external micro SD card when inserted in its dedicated slot in the phone. Also, the RAM size is 4GB although I was expecting something bigger, knowing that the previous Camon 12 uses 4GB RAM and also 64GB memory. So no changes as far as memory is concerned.

All eyes on this but once again Tecno Mobile disappointed its fans by using Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm). Not even P35 chipset, talk more snapdragon.
