MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, on November 6, 2023, increased the prices of its bouquets in Nigeria. So, in this post, I will show you the new prices for each bouquet and the channels attached to them. You will also discover the current price of their different Decoders.
DStv Nigeria is owned by Multichoice Limited, a South African multinational internet and media group. The company came into the Nigerian space in 1994 and also has another smaller PayTV service called GOtv.
DStv has tens of thousands of active subscribers in Nigeria who are enjoying the numerous channels available on different packages at different prices ranging from N2,950 Naira Monthly for DStv Padi which is the cheapest plan to Dstv Premium which costs N29,500 Naira monthly hence the expensive plan available.

In terms of cost, DStv’s subscription is a little bit expensive. The cheapest package (DStv Padi) costs N2,950 per month, but the channels are limited. The most expensive bouquet with all the channels costs N29,500 per month. More details are below :
Dstv Access:
DStv Access is an introductory package to the DStv family, designed to offer choice and value for money. DStv Access introduces an exciting viewing experience with a wide variety of categories from Movies and entertainment and news and commerce to Culture, Religion, and Lifestyle.
At the time of writing (June 2019), DStv Access offers up to 90 different channels which include Nat Geo Wild, Fashion One, Spice TV, Super Sports Blitz, Super Sport 4, SuperSport 9, Supersport 10, Supersport 4 HD, Al Jazeera, TVC News, BBC World News, and Bloomberg Television.

The following DStv decoders are available in Nigeria and can be purchased from online and offline stores around you.
DStv Explora:
The price of the DSTV Explora decoder is N115,000. The package includes a decoder, a dish, a remote, cables, and a free one-month subscription.
This is the most advanced piece of hardware from Multichoice LTD (Owners of DSTV). DStv Explora is an HD PVR decoder that allows you to watch and record quality HD content from different channels. In addition to that, it also comes with internet access that you can use to stream live and download content from the internet.
More interesting is the fact that DStv Explora gives you the ability to record your favorite shows so that you can watch them later. The decoder can record up to 220 hours of content which you can save and watch when you’re free.
DStv HD Decoder:
The price of a DSTV HD decoder starts from N44,000 and it includes accessories such as a satellite dish, a decoder, cables, and a remote. You may also enjoy a free one-month view.
The DStv HD Decoder’s user interface is similar to the DStv Explora. Most functions can be performed from DStv Central, accessed through the blue DStv button on the remote control. This user interface makes for easier navigation through the HD menus and helps customers discover great DStv content available via multiple search options directly from the remote control.
The decoder is XtraView capable and can be paired with selected XtraView compatible decoders (excluding the SD PVR), allowing a cost-effective and flexible option to allow more than one independent viewing environment.
